Senior Director of leadership & teamwork

Ryan Romaneski is an experienced leader in the education, private and non-profit sectors, with more than 25 years of professional experience in classroom instruction, project management, strategic planning, and talent recruitment and development. Ryan is currently the Senior Director of Talent & Teamwork, where he is focused on creating the conditions necessary for all Ednovate teammates to thrive through the development and optimization of effective, efficient talent systems.  

Prior to Ednovate, Ryan served as the Managing Director of Operations and Compliance for KIPP Public Schools Northern California, where he managed all aspects of school and regional operations, as well as local, state and federal reporting, compliance and oversight. Ryan joined KIPP through The Broad Residency in Urban Education, a highly-selective leadership development program that provides the opportunity for outstanding management professionals to apply their skills and knowledge to meet the challenges faced by urban public school systems.

Ryan’s work in talent began at Education Pioneers, a national nonprofit focused on attracting and retaining transformational leaders in the field of education, where he served in a variety of regional and national roles, including developing the organization’s national partner strategy and managing a portfolio of regional teams in talent recruitment and placement, leadership development and program expansion. He started his education career immediately after college as a middle and high school educator, before leaving education for nearly a decade to work in the private and nonprofit sectors. 

Ryan earned a degree in politics from Whitman College (Walla Walla, WA), an Ed.M. with a focus on leadership and adult development from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education (Cambridge, MA), and an Ed.M. in Public Education Management from the The Broad Center/Yale School of Management. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys running marathons, travelling the world and spending time with his two Boxers.
