LANIRA MURPHY

Senior Director of Academics

Lanira Murphy is an accomplished education leader with more than a decade of experience advancing academic excellence, equity, and systems level improvement across public charter schools. She currently serves as Senior Director of Academics, where she leads network-wide academic strategy, leader development, and academic innovation in service of college readiness and whole child outcomes.

Across her career, Lanira has supported the opening of new schools and alternative programs across multiple states and held roles spanning classroom teaching, school site leadership, and system level leadership.

Raised in North Carolina, Lanira is a first generation college graduate whose personal journey has deeply shaped her commitment to educational equity. She believes in the transformative power of education to create positive multigenerational change and is driven to ensure that students, particularly those historically underserved, have access to rigorous, affirming, and high quality learning experiences.

Lanira holds a Master of Arts in Education Leadership and Policy Studies, a Master of Science in Political Communication, and a Clear Administrative Services Credential.

In addition to her formal leadership roles, Lanira is passionate about coaching and mentoring women of color in education leadership. She is deeply invested in developing future leaders, expanding representation, and supporting aspiring leaders as they navigate barriers and step fully into their potential.
